The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF) mid-day meal program provides nutritious meals to government school students which helps enhance alertness in classroom, and motor skills of the children and reduces the number of school dropouts each year. Newgen CSR, in partnership with TAPF since 2018, has been working towards attaining Goal 2 – Zero Hunger of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With this initiative, Newgen ensures that healthy and nutritious meals are served to children to support their growth in their formative years. The project locations include Baran and Nathdwara in Rajasthan, Bhillai in Chhattisgarh, Mangalgiri in Andhra Pradesh, and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
To date, Newgen reached out to 79 government schools in the remote areas of Baran, Nathdwara, Bhilai, Chhatisgarh, Mangalagiri and Gorakhpur with a goal to ensure quality education and good health to every child. The mid-day meal program served over 11lac+ mid-day meals to 4700+ students.
