New Delhi, India – Newgen, a global provider of an AI-first unified digital transformation platform, has strengthened its commitment to digital inclusion through a strategic CSR partnership with Computer Shiksha, aimed at scaling computer literacy among school-going children in aspirational districts, rural interiors, and remote regions across the country.

The initiative aligns with Newgen’s long-standing focus on technology-led empowerment and its CSR vision of making digital education accessible to all. By the end of the third quarter of the current financial year, the programme has already reached over 1.5 lakh students, with further expansion planned by year-end.

“Newgen is proud to partner with Computer Shiksha to scale the mission of bringing computer literacy to the nooks and corners of the nation. This partnership strongly aligns with our CSR goal of making digital education accessible to all. By the third quarter, we have reached over 1.5 lakh students and aim to expand this further by the end of the financial year,” said Ms. Priyadarshini Nigam, Whole-time Director and Head of CSR, Newgen.

Newgen’s CSR initiatives have consistently focused on bridging the digital divide for students from underserved communities. Through its flagship programme, Newgen Digital Discovery Paathshala (NDDP), the company has supported projects that promote foundational digital skills and technology access for school children across India.

In FY 2024–25, Newgen initiated its partnership with Computer Shiksha to significantly scale the reach of computer literacy programmes. The collaboration benefited over 1 lakh students across 300+ schools, particularly in aspirational districts and interior regions of the country.

Building on this progress, FY 2025–26 will see a major expansion of the initiative. Newgen aims to reach approximately 3 lakh students, including 1,000 specially abled children, making digital education more inclusive. The programme will extend across 1,000 schools nationwide, covering regions such as Kargil, Mau, Barauli, Mandi, Kannauj, Naya Gaon, Nashik, Rabung Khawzawl, Siwan, Ramnagar, and several other locations.

“Computer Shiksha, with Newgen Software’s CSR support, is advancing inclusive education by setting up computer labs in seven special schools this year, empowering differently abled students to enter the digital world with confidence. This is a key milestone for us. The broader Computer Literacy Programme under this partnership is already reaching 824 schools and 2.42 lakh underserved students. Extending world-class computer literacy programmes to rural, remote, and border areas is essential to truly bridging the digital divide,” said Dr. Rakesh Suri, Founder, Computer Shiksha.

Through this partnership, Newgen and Computer Shiksha continue to work towards strengthening digital foundations for students across India, ensuring that access to computer education reaches those who need it most.
