Overview

The client is among the top 10 largest states in India, comprising approximately 20 departments, 265 talukas (administrative departments), and over 19,000 villages.

The state’s Department of Science and Technology (DST), responsible for its development and implementation of new & emerging technology, was looking for a technology partner to automate processes across other state departments to promote e-governance.

Operational Bottlenecks

The officials in the state departments were working on partially automated processes with obsolete technology and were highly dependent on physical documents. This resulted in lack of collaboration among departments and low visibility across processes, leading to long approval cycles, and delayed citizen services.

DST realized the need to digitize operations and empower officials with electronic office and automated workflow processes. The department partnered with Newgen owing to its experience of working with global government organizations and successfully implementing 200+ government projects.
