(Kinship for Humanitarian Social and Holistic Intervention in India)
Newgen is working with NGO KHUSHII (Kinship for Humanitarian, Social and Holistic Intervention in India) to offer remedial classes. The project reaches out to 6500+ students in Harkesh Nagar, Tekhand and Indira Kalyan Vihar in Delhi, Nandambakkam in Chennai and Ramgarh in Uttarakhand. For the Ramgarh schools, the infrastructural augmentation contribute to a safer classroom setting, health and hygiene support, and stronger school governance.
Shikshaantra Plus
The integrated model of Shikshaantra Plus addresses issues that act as impediments to learning for students in government schools. The intervention is designed to take proactive steps towards improving the various aspects of school, including teaching, learning, creating a welcoming environment in school, capacity enhancement of teachers, enabling students to acquire strong foundation skills. The program focuses on a student-centred approach with digital classes, art-integrated learning, usage of various teaching aids, visual methods, etc.
Objective
- Enable an enriching school experience for students through access to quality education, mental well-being, and life skills
- Ensure accountability of all stakeholders through effective role execution on school governance through community participation
Students facing difficulties in learning are provided remedial education through a blended learning program via offline and online classes, communication on WhatsApp, worksheets, peer interactions, and doubt clearance classes. It follows innovative pedagogy and supports practical-based learning, art-integrated learning, regular counseling sessions, etc. This initiative has amplified the impact of the Newgen Digital Discovery Paathshala (NDDP) program, the flagship program of Newgen CSR.
