Newgen Software’s tabulous banking implementation at Union Bank of India has bagged the elets Financial Inclusion & Payment System Award 2014. This prestigious award is bestowed by the e-Gov magazine recognizing exemplary work done by banks all over the country, as well as across the globe. The jury at the ceremony adjudged nominations on parameters such as innovation, scalability, ability to overcome challenges, and impact potential.

Union Bank of India selected Newgen to automate its Saving Bank Account Opening Process under its Customer Service Excellence Project “Navnirman”. Newgen Mobile Capture Application- ZapIn enabled the bank to drastically reduce Account Opening cycle times, empowering field executives to initiate the Account Opening process from the customers’ doorsteps. At present, the Bank is providing this facility at 7 locations including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and New Delhi, and plans to roll out the initiative to other locations in a phased manner.
